Michael Gida Obituary

Michael was born to Steven and Mary Gida, is one of three brothers, born in Hawaii, and grew up in Newburgh, NY.
He leaves behind his wife, Amy, and is succeeded by his children: John, Katie, Michael, Michelle, and Stephen.
Michael served in the 82nd Airborne Division during Vietnam, and was the owner and manager of Mike's Decorative Stone, a stone masonry business that served the Hudson Valley for over 25 years. He was a lover of music, notably Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, and Beastie Boys. When Michael wasn't working, he could be found at the beach, Bear Mountain's swimming hole, Disney World, and Europe, where he developed his affection for collecting steins. Anyone who spoke with Michael knew he always had a story to tell.
The night of November 8th, 2022, a fire broke out in his home, where he made sure his family was safe, but gave his life in doing so.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis Church on Saturday, November 12 at 12:00 PM, followed by burial with military honors at St. Francis Cemetery, New Windsor.
