Michael Gissendanner was born on September 19, 1956, to Marka and Minnie Pearl Gissendanner. He was the oldest out of six children. Michael attended Clara Barton #2 Elementary School in Rochester, NY. During his early years, Michael was an active youth who enjoyed all sports, but his favorite ones to play were baseball and football. He attended East High School excelling in football but left to obtain his GED.
Michael was employed as a youth counselor at the Charles Settlement House, where he enjoyed working with the Youth. He was later employed by Mercantile Adjustment Bureau as a Medical Billing Specialist for 10 years. Michael was raised in the church. He attended Church of God in Unity. As a child, Michael enjoyed singing in the family's gospel groups.
During his later years, Michael accepted Christ as his personal Lord and savior. One of Michael's favorite sayings was "Me and the Lord have no problems, my problems are with you Niggras." LoL.
Michael was married to Marilyn P. Gissendanner for 10 years and later divorced. He was a proud father of two sons Jamal Dade who sadly proceeded him April 19, 2024, and Michael Rashod Stubbs. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a true jokester who loved to make people laugh. Michael was the one to call to lift your spirits. He was also a competitor when it came to dressing. He had to be the sharpest one of them all. He was best known as "The Hat Guy."
Michael departed this life suddenly on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at his home. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother Minnie Pearl Gissendanner, his son Rashod, seven grand kids, Jamar, Johari, Jahina, Anthony, Kaylynn, Raegan, and Ja'hi. Four siblings Gregory (Monica) Gissendanner, Jackie (Tim) Gissendanner, Sandra (Joseph) Jones, Robbie (Latricia) Gissendanner. 3 nephew's Sérell (Beth) Gissendanner, Timothy "Bundy" (Dominque) Hannah, Mark Gissendanner and Lil Robbie Gissendanner. Two nieces Brittaney (David) Jones and Amelia "Meme" Jones. Along, with 4 great nephews and 3 great nieces he called the "Fortnite Kids" LoL. Michael also leaves to cherish a special friend Maryann Hughes and two childhood friends, Jonathan "T-Tom" Ward and Duane "Deacon" Pearson. A special Aunt Lessie Mae Durr and a host of other Family and Friends.
