MICHAEL W. GLEATON, 63, beloved husband of Cindy Snipes Gleaton, passed away Thursday evening, May 23, 2024 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Orangeburg, SC, Mike was a son of the late Euley Gleaton, Jr. and Louise Huggins Gleaton. He was a lifelong resident of Aiken County and retired as a maintenance contractor at Bridgestone. Mike was an active member of Bethcar Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and served as chairman of the deacons. He loved his dogs and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan.
Surviving is his wife of 37 years, Cindy; two children, Kasey G. Still (Brent), Aiken, Aaron Gleaton (Christle), Wagener; a sister, Marie Goodwin (Richard), Lexington, SC; a brother, Richard “Ricky” Gleaton, Wagener; two nieces, Melanie Moseley (Greg), Batesburg, SC, Bridget Gleaton, Aiken; two great-nieces, Claire and Eva Moseley.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, May 26th beginning at 2 o’clock at Bethcar Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 3 o’clock with The Rev. Chris Addy officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie West, Doug Smith, Joe Ellis, Randy Shumpert, Harley Gallop and Jake Klarman. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Adult Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Junior Merritt Cancer Fund, c/o Bethcar Baptist Church, P.O. Box 546, Wagener, SC 29164.
