Michael George Goergen

Michael George Goergen, age 80, was lovingly taken following a six year decline from dementia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfons and Kathryn and sister, Patty. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, of 60 years, sons Michael (Leslie), David (Marie) and grandchildren, Michael, Mattinen, Molly and Josephine, Quinn, Katherine. Michael was born and raised in Winona, MN. Later he attended the University of Minnesota where he met his future wife Sharon. Upon graduation, Mike began a career dedicated to public service, first as a Marine Corps flyer and Vietnam combat vet, followed by an FBI career which took him around the country and globe as a hostage negotiator. In retirement, he enjoyed reconnecting with family and friends, traveling and most of all his grandkids. Visitation 10-11am and Mass of Christian Burial at 11, Church of St. Edward, 9401 Nesbitt Avenue S., Bloomington, Tuesday, September 9. Lunch will be served following mass.
