The Muskegon High School Class of 1965 wishes to express extreme sorrow at the passing of our Classmate. In fact, he was registered to attend our 60th Class Reunion Thursday, and at the event we were told he had died peacefully and suddenly 3 days earlier. The 110 in attendance were sincerely grieved by the news. Our prayers go out to his family at this very difficult time...

I grew up in Lakeside, three doors from the Groenevelds. Mike and Judy were best friends of my sister, Ann, and myself. We spent many hours in the home of Zager & Irma. They were like second parents. My strongest memory was of Mike´s trains that were set-up on their second floor. He had the best. Second, he painted and assembled model cars...beautifully.
After high school, we saw less of each other, but when both of us were home from college, etc. we would get together.

Mike also helped several years ago during COVID when my sister became more ill. He was very kind and took her to appointments.

I will miss Mike, even though we lived six hundred miles apart. He was a good friend.
