Michael Costell Gula

Michael Costell Gula, 71, of Duncanville, Texas, passed away on November 10, 2025. Having fought the good fight and run his race with courage and grace, he now rests in the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born on June 9, 1954, in Suceava, Romania, to Dumitru and Ileana Gula.
Michael was a devoted Christian, husband, father, and grandfather. He faithfully served in the Romanian Navy and had a deep love for America after courageously escaping communist Romania. A hardworking and dedicated man, Michael spent his career as a professional driver, logging millions of miles across the country. He also operated an international transportation service that provided services for the Romanian community. Known for his generosity and his love of cooking, Michael was happiest when serving others and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dumitru and Ileana Gula, and his brother, Viorel Gula.
Michael married Zina Amariei and is survived by his children, Janette, Andrew, and Austin (Grace) Gula; his grandson, Atlas Emmanuel Gula; his sisters, Valeria, Viorica, and Aneta; and many other beloved relatives and friends. Michael faced a sudden illness and his life was tragically cut short. He trusted in God and would always drive around with his Bible. He will be dearly missed but we know he is finally at rest and can have peace.
Visitation will be held from 09:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home, followed by a celebration of Michael's life at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Gita Sasca officiating.
