Mike and I were in Vietnam together. We were both RTT operators with the 3rd of the 13th Artillery. I have been searching for my old Vietnam friends in the past few years and was looking for Mike when I arrived at this obit. I always remembered "Warsaw", Indiana, was Michael Hackworth. He was a good man, an easy-going gentle man, even under adverse conditions. Sorry to learn of his death.

Phil, I am so sorry for your loss. I did not know he had passed until today when I received a note from Michelle. My heart goes out to you and Lizzie. I will keep you in my prayers and pray you find some comfort. Pam

I remember when Mike started at GE. His first job was cleaning machinery on 2nd shift. I talked him into taking a L core stacking in 19-B. It wasn't the best of jobs and he liked to kid me about talking him into taking it. Mike will be truly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

we would like to extend our deepest condolences to the entire Hackworth family. I enjoyed Mike's stories and his sense of humor. It was great to have another person from the "old school" to share memories with. He is already missed.

When it came to old baseball players and cards, Mike had a memory like and elephant. A bunch of us guys in bldg. 19-1 would go to Mike and throw out an old baseball players name. He would know all of the stats about him. Then, to try to fool him, I would make up a ficticious name. You couldn't fool him. I will remember you always, Mike. How many times in the many years we worked together I asked him..."Where is my next job"?

Mike and Jennifer were always special cousins that I enjoyed so much visiting with when my Dad Albert Hackworth would bring our family to Silver Lake to visit his parents. Those times I wish I could recall more clearly. The last time I saw Mike was when he came with Uncle Ballard to see my Dad at David Ky. Jim and I were caretakers with Dad at that time. Our prayers and thoughts go out to his family. ISA. 26:3/4..Love, JoAnn/Jim Lyon,Ken Lyon & Ginger Richards

Mike's passing broke my heart. He was a great nephew, always had a soft spot in my heart for him. I was always close to Mike and we had a good time laughing and talking. I loved him very much.He was a great guy, very kind hearted, intelligent, and so handsome.
Know you boys will miss him so very much. Know how hard this is for you both. You will have great memories of him, he was a good father.
Wish I could come for the service, but right now it doesn't look like I can. Have a hard time walking.
So sorry for you loss, with love Aunt Louise

Mike was my cousin. His dad and my dad were brothers. I have so many special memories of Mike. I went through my pictures and even found some of him at my birthday parties. My sincere condolences and prayers for all of your family. Even though it had been years without seeing him I loved him dearly.
