Michael Brent Haddix, 39, of Searcy, departed this life to start his eternal journey, with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on February 9th, 2025. He was born in Jasper, Alabama on March 10th, 1985, a son of Donald Edward and Jeannie Raye. His current profession is Senior Vice President of Arkansas Insurance Plex, owned by his father Donald Edward Haddix. He excelled in his role due to his fast-growing knowledge of the industry, his personality, and his people skills. He started his adult life by obtaining his career technical degree in HVAC and followed that up with an added 2-year college degree. His journey led him into the field of electricity in Phoenix, Arizona. He worked for years in Arizona as VP of Solid Ground Electrical before making a move to a very large nationwide construction company, Horizon Retail, as a Head Superintendent / Job Foreman. He loved his job. He excelled in this role and travelled from coast to coast, doing what he found joy in doing. Along the way, he was able to experience all of the great places our country has to offer. Unfortunately, he contracted COVID-19 in Louisiana when the virus initially broke out. After hospitalization his health forced him off the road, so he eventually had to make a new career path for himself. This led him into the insurance world. Similar people skills helped him to flourish in this role as well. Remembering Michael Brent Haddix
Born March 10th, 1985, in Jasper, AL TO February 8th, 2025, in
Searcy, ARIt is with profound sorrow that I announce the passing of my beloved son, Mike Haddix, who succumbed to congestive heart failure in his sleep yesterday. Mike exhibited extraordinary resilience, having survived the challenges posed by COVID-19 in 2019 while working as a head superintendent in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Despite undergoing a quadruple bypass surgery and confronting renal failure, Mike's courage and strength were unwavering.
After graduating high school, Mike obtained a technical heating and air conditioning degree. He was not fond of working in older homes, so he relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, to work with his brother, Donnie. He honed his skills for ten years and became an electrician himself. Subsequently, he joined a construction company and managed large business projects across the United States as the head superintendent for fifteen years. While working in New Orleans, he tragically contracted COVID-19 and was hospitalized.
Due to his health condition, Mike left his job and moved to Mobile, Alabama, to live with his brother Mitch and his family to recuperate. After a year, he moved to
Searcy, Arkansas, to be closer to me, his father. Upon arriving in Searcy, he initially lived with his brother Mitchael before seeking his own place. Together, we found an apartment, and he became the prospective owner of Arkansas Insurance Plex. Mike had a remarkable ability to connect with people, and his charismatic personality endeared him to everyone around him.
As a child, Mike was very private. He deeply loved his brothers Bob (Robert Thane Haddix) most of the time as they grew up, Mitchael (Raymond Haddix Sr.), Donnie Haddix, Seth, his nephew Ray, and niece Jeannie. Recently, in Searcy, Mike questioned the purpose of his life until his sister-in-law Yanna introduced him to Anna, a close friend in Ukraine. Their relationship rekindled his spirit and value with love and purpose, and they shared affection across the internet until his passing. They planned to unite in the United States as she processed her travel requests. Anna's "online presence" brought Mike joy and happiness; she will remain part of our family.
Throughout his life, Mike demonstrated immense love and devotion to his family. Despite geographical distances, he consistently supported his family financially and emotionally whenever needed, reflecting his unwavering care and sense of responsibility. His profound love for his family was evident, and he constantly sought their affection and approval.
Numerous doctoral appointments scarred and marked Mike's life, yet he remained dedicated to his work until the end, often working on Fridays and some Wednesdays. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, understanding, and genuine interest in others. His ability to listen, humor, and provide support made him a reliable and trusted individual to those who knew him.
During his childhood, Mike faced challenges following his parents' separation. When his mother and I divorced, he and his brother Bobby were left unprotected, with me living so far away. However, as an adult, when Mike moved to Searcy, I could provide the security and support he deserved.
Mike, your strength, kindness, and unwavering spirit will never be forgotten. You were more than a son; you were a friend and beacon of hope, demonstrating resilience despite your medical challenges. Your impact on our lives and those around you will be remembered forever. Rest in peace, my dear son.
A Graveside Service will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Searcy on Saturday, February 15, 2025 beginning at 2:00pm.
