Michael Hall Obituary

I am deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of my brother, Michael L. Hall, Sunday evening, March 8, 2026.

Michael was an Army Veteran, stationed for three years, 1962 - 1965, in Germany, and was a life-long artist. He loved his pets, especially his cat, Precious, and his German shepherd, Zachariah.

He was born in Nashville, TN, on January 1, 1943, and was a student all eight grades at Woodmont Grammar School, and graduated from Hillsboro High School, Class of 1962. He loved to cook, and worked for the Hilton Hotel chain as a chef in Texas and California.

In recent years, he helped his neighbors with their flower gardens, or helped them by painting their condos. But, first and foremost, he loved the Lord, and enjoyed sharing his faith and his favorite scriptures.

This last year, Michael had experienced a decline in his health, requiring frequent hospitalizations, and finally moving into the VA CLC in Murfreesboro this past December. He still was active and loved watching his football games and old movies on one of their big screen tv's.

A few weeks ago, he had a fall and had to have surgery on his leg. This is when he experienced a major change. Afterwards, he was moved to the ICU and then to Hospice, and was unable to recover. I am so thankful for all the time we spent together, and those last moments before he quietly slipped away.

He was deeply loved and will be truly missed. But, I have a lifetime of memories, even as my heart is breaking.

He is survived by his sister, Diane Hall Wright, (Richard), his brother, Henry T. Hall III, 3 nieces, 2 grandnieces, and 2 grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Henry T. Hall, Jr., and our mother, Margarette G. Hall, his brother, Steven Griffin Hall, nephew, Steven Griffin Hall, Jr., step-niece, Cherie Wright, and grand-niece, Maitland Harvey.

The Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery arrangements are incomplete at this time. They will be announced in the near future.
