Michael (Mike) Lee Hamilton
Mike Hamilton, 73, of Missoula passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024 at home, of natural causes.
Mike was born June 26, 1951 in Deer Lodge, Montana to Marleen and Martin (Spike) Hamilton. Mike attended Victor High School where he played basketball and football, and excelled in sports.
He quit high school at the end of his sophomore year to work in the woods where he was a sawyer and skidder operator for many years. He also worked as a ranch hand and bartender .
He joined the Army in 1970, served in Viet Nam, and was honorably discharged.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and loved watching old westerns on TV.
Survivors include his wife Sharon (Shay), five children, and their families: Lisa (Rick) Widder, Christopher (Sarah), Christy (Rob) Hughes, Michael, and Jack (Zoey Gerber). Step children: Jenise (Bill) Cockhill, Michelle (Troy)Downard), and Justin Erickson. Siblings: Patrick, Kathy (Watson), Daniel, Penny (Mc Donald), Polly(Carsile), Kelly, Jimmy (deceased), Mary (JD) Ward and Mark. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation occurred on Aug. 12, 2024 and as per Mike’s wishes a wake will be held with friends and family to celebrate his life at Mike and Shay’s home on September 15, 2024 at 1pm.
