Michael B. Hanrahan, "Mick," age 83, of Chicago, went to be with the Lord

Born and raised in Chicago, Michael was the beloved son of the late Sylvester and Margaret "Marge"Hanrahan. A proud Marine Reservist, lifelong Chicagoan, and devoted sports fan, he brought humor, grit, and heart to everyone he met. He was never without a story to tell, a joke to share, or a bit of advice-always delivered with his trademark wit. Whether cheering on the Bears on Sunday or the Cubs from his favorite chair, he carried the spirit of Chicago in everything he did.

Michael was the loving brother of Nancy, and of the late Patricia "Patty" and Margaret "Peggy" Hanrahan. He was the cherished husband of Loretta, and the devoted father of Krystel (Andy). He was also the loving stepfather of Heather (Derrick) Martin, Jeanne (Michael) McGowan, Joseph Hartmann, R.J. Beaty (Siyeen), Steven Hartmann (Valerie) and the late Thomas Hartmann (Ann Marie).

He was a proud grandfather to Alex, Audrey, Cole, Emmett, Emma, Greyson, Indi, Jack, Jennifer, Macklyn, Mikayla, Michelle, and Quinn. Mick was also a fond cousin and a trusted friend to countless people throughout his life.

Michael's humor, loyalty, and storytelling will echo in the hearts of all who loved him. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit-like his beloved Chicago teams-will live on in every cheer, every laugh, and every story shared in his memory.
