Michael Phillip Harner, age 68, of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.
He was born on December 19, 1954, in Coleman, Oklahoma, the son of Tollie and Irene Lattie Harner. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael Scott; his siblings, Madeline Dobbins, Frank Harner, Jimmy Harner, Odis Harner, Jean Wilson, and Eunis Harner.
On November 6, 1995, Michael married the true love of his life, Marie Harner. The youngest of sixteen children, Michael has lived a wonderful life full of love. He enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. Most of all Michael loved chasing his grandchildren, loving his kids, and doting over his loving wife. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-eight years, Marie Harner of Athens; his three daughters, Kristi Manners of Durant, Oklahoma, Ann Owens of Coleman, Oklahoma, and Shelley Collins of Dennard; his three sons and their spouses, Michael and Angie Golden, Jeremy and Michelle Golden, and Dustin Golden all of Athens; his nineteen grandchildren; his six great-grandchildren; his five brothers, Pete, Dude, Leon, Sonny, and Raymond Harner; his four sisters, Eva Pace, Geneva Harner, Bettie Brown, and Linda Overstreet; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 17, 2023, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Vernon Wehunt officiating.
Visitation will be held Sunday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, 209 North Third Street, Glenwood, Arkansas 71943.
