Michael Harron, a faithful husband, devoted father, loving grandfather, and loyal friend, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 5, 2025. He was 80 years old and surrounded by his family.

Michael “Mike” was born on June 22, 1945, in Leeds, Yorkshire, England, to William Harron and Kathleen McNulty-Harron. At the age of two, his family moved to Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. He later attended Ushaw College in Durham from ages 11 to 18.

In 1968, Mike was recruited by the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in Toronto, Ontario, where he began a career in Information Technology. While living in Canada, he met his future wife, Susan “Sue,” on a blind date arranged by Sue’s aunt—who happened to be Mike’s co-worker. After a long-distance courtship between Mike living in Canada and Sue living in Rhode Island for more than four months, Mike and Sue married on June 1, 1974. They celebrated 51 years of marriage together and were blessed with three sons and one daughter.

In 1985, the Harron family moved to Arlington, Texas, where Mike worked for the City of Arlington for 20 years until his retirement in 2005. A lifelong supporter of Newcastle United Football Club, Mike also enjoyed following cricket. He was an active member of the Old Time Radio Club, a charter member of the Mets Fan Club, a member of the Knights of Columbus and he has been an active member of The Catholic Church of Saint Mary the Virgin since 2013.

Mike is survived by his wife, Susan “Sue” Harron; his children, Christopher “Chris” & Misti Harron, Andrew & Katherine “Katie” Harron, Timothy “Tim” & Allison “Allie” Harron, and Sarah Harron & Alex Cortesano; and his four grandchildren, Brenden Michael Harron, Payton Carol Harron, Owen Patrick Harron, and Arden James Harron.

A funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, at The Catholic Church of Saint Mary the Virgin, 1408 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas, 76012. The family will gather privately on Friday, September 26. Extended family and friends are invited to join the family at their home following the service on the 27th.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association, EWTN, Meals on Wheels or The Catholic Church of Saint Mary the Virgin.
