Michael Thomas Haupt Sr.

Michael (Mop Top) Thomas Haupt, 64, of Port Wentworth, GA passed away Saturday, June 29th.
He was the son of Joseph K. Haupt and Elease H. Haupt (McCormick) who each preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his dear brothers and sister in laws, Ken (Glenda) Haupt and Larry (Vanessa) Haupt, and brother in law, Harold Arrington.
Michael is survived by his loving wife Peggy Haupt, his daughter Faith Ann Haupt, his son Michael Thomas (Karyn) Haupt Jr., his stepdaughter Dawn (Kirk) West, his grandchildren William A. Smich, Amelia L. H. Anguiano, Thomas F. J. (TJ) West, Lyssa S. M. West, Kai M. L. West, his loving sister Diane H. Arrington, his dear nieces and nephew, and many many close friends who he absolutely loved.
Michael loved to track the weather. Many still remember his daily rain accumulation reports to WTOC. He loved gardening and fishing. He could whistle a full conversation with almost any bird. He had a love for poetry, adding little poems to his kid's birthday cards through the years. Michael absolutely loved animals. He never met a stranger, striking up a conversation with anyone he could, and had a knack for making any and everyone laugh! Mop would frequently entertain his family and friends with crazy witty stories of his past. He enjoyed a life full of the things he loved. Michael will be missed more than words can ever say.
