My uncle, Mike, was only 8 years older than me. He really made my Minnesota summers special during my childhood. He taught me to play darts, pool, Monopoly and Stratego, had a wonderful train set, and always outsmarted me during water fights in the yard. He used to pay me 25 cents to do the dishes for him. He was truly a good soul, and I will miss him. My sincere condolences to Cindy, Melissa, Brandon, Eric and their families. Rest in peace, dear Mike. Love, Joanie

Mike was generous with a wonderful sense of humor and a deep love for his family. During a winter break in college, I left a few boxes in his basement for safekeeping. Mike had a pottery collection, though I never knew where he´d gathered it all. When I unpacked my boxes at the start of the spring semester, I discovered that he had slipped a piece of his pottery inside. It made me laugh, and I´ve kept it ever since-a small reminder of Mike´s thoughtful and playful spirit, always finding ways to connect and bring joy to others.

In addition to building quality homes, Mike was a good guy - caring and compassionate. My husband was diagnosed with cancer in the middle of building our new home - and died shortly after we closed. Mike worked with me and gave me time and space and then was there to take care of the little things in the new house. A few months later my daughter hit the garage door frame while backing her car out of the garage. Mike not only took care of fixing it - but didn´t charge me - it was her high school graduation gift. I'm truly sorry to learn of his passing.

Grief can be so hard but remembering all the good times are great. Mike was always here to lend me a hand. He helped me without even asking and I miss him so much.
