Michael Anthony Hebert, age 61, entered the gates of heaven on January 5, 2026, surrounded by the ones he loved the most. Michael was born in
Westwego, Louisiana, and spent much of his life throughout Louisiana, calling places such as Slidell, Harahan, Metairie, and the Westbank home. His journey also took him to Missouri and Colorado before he eventually settled in
Picayune, Mississippi.
A skilled carpenter and painter by trade, Michael took great pride in working with his hands. He found peace and joy in nature, whether he was outdoors, tending to his garden, or simply appreciating the quiet beauty around him. A free spirit at heart, he lived simply but loved deeply. Above all else, he was a devoted father and an adoring grandfather. His family was his greatest accomplishment and his truest joy. No amount of money, no opportunity, and no measure of time could ever compete with the importance he placed on being there for the people he loved. He showed his love not always in words, but in the sacrifices he made and the love he gave.
Michael is survived by his partner, Linda Newman; his children, Angel Sartor (Justin), Michael Hebert Jr. (Katt), and Crystal Hebert (Mike); and his cherished grandchildren-Angel's children, Emily Evans, Ashlyn Topey, and Evie Sartor; Crystal's children, Mila Poole, Layla Cummings, and Ariella Cummings; and Michael Jr.'s children, Joseph Hebert and Layla Hinde. He is also survived by his siblings, Shelia, Gail, Linda, and Eddie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick Joseph Hebert Sr. and Joyce Marie "Delia" Fitzsimmons Hebert, as well as his siblings, Joseph, Wayne, Jesse, Billy, Chris, and Susan Hebert.
Michael was an extraordinarily selfless and free spirited man, consistently placing the needs of others above his own and giving generously without expectation of return. His presence offered steadiness and comfort, and his absence leaves an irreplaceable void. Although he is no longer with us, his values, love, and example will endure through his children, his grandchildren, and all who were lucky enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
