It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael R. "Mike" Heeke on January 18, 2026. Born in New Albany, Indiana on July 27, 1953 the son of Joseph John Heeke, Jr. and Katherine Jane Smith Heeke. Michael was a vibrant, hardworking, and loving man who left an indelible mark on every life he touched. He was a 1971 New Albany High School Graduate and then went to work for Trail Mobile that became Global in Louisville, KY and was a shop foreman and diesel mechanic. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Bryan K. Terry, a sister, Carolyn Schneiderback and a brother Joseph Alan Heeke. Mike is survived by his wife, Paula Terry Heeke of Lanesville, IN; son, Michael S. Heeke (Natalie); daughter, Cheri Hubert (Dale) both of Elizabeth, IN; brother, Don Heeke (Wanda) of Richmond, VA; sisters, Nancy Ferguson of Mt Washington, KY, Janet Greenwell and Judy Bailey (Doug) both of Clarksville, IN; brother-in-law, Maurice "Buddy" Terry, Jr.; grandchildren, Elliot Hubert, Tyler Terry, Cody Terry, Lexi Wolfe (Avery) Shakeilah Shahin and Sydney Heeke; great grandchildren, Bryan P Terry, Wyatt Terry, Brantley Terry, Cadence Terry and Quinn Wolfe. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, IN. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 PM to 8 PM Wednesday, January 28, 2026 and again on Thursday from 9 AM until the service at 10 AM also at the funeral home in Georgetown, IN. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to the charity of your choice. We invite you to leave memories and upload photos on Michael's memorial page.
