Michael "Mike" Hiester
November 14, 1955 – November 28, 2024
As a young boy, Mike loved camping with his parents, grandparents, brother, and sister in the ocean near Pacific Beach, WA, where they collected glass balls and dug for razor clams. He also loved baseball, where he pitched a complete game, one-hit shutout. He continued playing baseball and softball into adulthood. Mike followed in his father's footsteps, playing the violin, and had the honor of performing alongside his father with the Bellevue Philharmonic.
Mike loved his boys with all his heart and had the best time coaching their soccer, baseball, and football teams, camping, dirt bike riding, boating, skiing, and endless other activities.
Mike's love for Kathy was strong and came straight from his heart. They spent 35 years together playing golf, snowmobiling, skiing, wakeboarding/wake surfing, and laughing together. They both enjoyed their wonderful dogs.
During his career in Sales, he was very successful, with some saying he could "sell ice cubes to Eskimo's." He traveled several times to China and other countries for business.
Mike was also a member of the Issaquah Rotary and became their president in 2000. He enjoyed donating his time to their many different causes and charities.
As an adult, most recently, he was working to restore his grandfather's 1960 Chrysler Windsor Deluxe car with his boys. He was always out in the shop building or tinkering with something! He and Kathy enjoyed restoring old furniture for their small cabin at the ocean. Holidays and birthdays were important to Mike and spent most with his whole family. He enjoyed life to the fullest!
Mike's motto was always: "He who has the most toys wins."
MIKE WON!!!!
