Michael John Hitt

Michael John Hitt, age 48, of Antigo, died on January 22, 2026 at his home. He was born on October 10, 1977 in Ironwood MI, a son of Douglas and Elizabeth (Pregler) Hitt. He married Suzanna Bernarde on September 6, 2003 in the Town of Birnamwood. She survives.

Mike had a great appreciation of the outdoors. He especially loved spending time at the lake with his sons, fishing, camping, and snowmobiling. His children were his best friends. He enjoyed tractor pulls, as a participant and spectator, something he shared with his father. He had an easy going personality and made people laugh with his goofy antics. He will be missed by those he loved.

In addition to his parents and his wife of 22 years survivors include four sons, Devin Hitt, Trent Hitt, Reed Hitt, and Ayden Hitt all of Antigo; three brothers, Steve Pregler of Antigo, Brian (Becky) Hitt of Forest Lake, MN, and Kevin (Nancy) Hitt of Antigo; father-in-law, Keith Bernarde of Birnamwood; mother-in-law, Kathryn Buss of Antigo; four brothers-in-law, Shane Bernarde of Bowler, Travis (Mary) Bernarde of Bowler, Quintin Armbrust of Antigo and Jack Armbrust of Antigo; a sister-in-law, Amber (Ted II) Day of Wittenberg; and many nephews and nieces.
