NELSONVILLE - Michael T. Hoffman, 52, of Nelsonville, died unexpectedly Saturday, September 1, 2012. Born July 26, 1960 in Nelsonville, he was the son of Gerald Thomas Hoffman of Nelsonville and the late Dianne Carol Goebl. He was a 1979 graduate of Nelsonville York High School and received his bachelors degree from Ohio University and his masters degree in Political Science and Military History also from Ohio University. He was an instructor for Conceal to Carry Permits through the NRA, which he was a member. He was also a member of Ohio Gun Collectors Assoc., Hocking Valley Sportsman, Tusco Gun Club, and American Motorcycle Club. He was a beloved husband. He also loved his cat, Winston Rufus Hoffman.
Besides his father, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Amy; a friend who is like a brother, Chuck Fields; an aunt, Judy (Fred) Kurtz of Maumee; an uncle, Arch Persinger of Clarington; and many friends and other family, including sisters-in law Lauri Graves of the home, Lisa Graves-Austin (Todd), of Flint, TX, and Kathy Groll (Jayson) of Toledo; niece Maygan, nephews Damius, Connor, and AJ.
Preceded in death by his mother, maternal grandparents Michael and Ann (Brigadoi) Goebl, paternal grandparents Tom and Bessie (Farley) Hoffman. Also preceded in death by special cats, Ace and Rufus.

I still think about Hoffy often and didn't have any pictures of him, so I was happy to run across this page and be reminded of his sense of humor. What a great guy, I miss him...
