Michael R. Horbinski Sr.
March 27th, 1940 - September 26th, 2025
Michael Horbinski Sr, age 85, of Oconomowoc, WI passed away peacefully on September 26th, 2025.
He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Ann (nee Holzbauer) of 20 years. His sons Michael Jr. (Kristin), Mark (Wendy) and Jamison (Jennifer). His grandchildren Derek (Coni), Haley, Tyler, Tripp, Trey (Maia), Mikayla, Colton, Cooper, and Caiden. His great-grandchildren Bentley & Copen. As well as his sisters Marylin (Carl) Ganas, Kathleen (James) Wood, Patricia (Walt) Morzy & Cheryl (Robert) Schwartz. He is further survived by dozens of cherished nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph & Genevieve (nee Spankowski) and niece Samantha Wittmann (nee Wood).
Michael loved spending time with his family. Disney World was one of his favorite family vacation destinations. Michael was an avid golfer. A passion which he shared with his wife Mary Ann. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time with his sons and close friends around the family's cabin and surrounding lakes and streams. Michael was also a very good softball player. He played softball competitively, well into his early 70s. As a player, Michael was on the "Milwaukee Seniors" 2002 Class AA National Championship Team at the Huntsman World Senior Games 65+. He won 2 more National Championships, the 2005 Softball Players Association Class AA 65+ and the 2006 Softball Players Association Class AAA 70+ - this time, as Coach/Manager of the "Milwaukee Seniors".
Michael was a Milwaukee Firefighter. Something he was extremely proud of, up until his very last breath. In 1978, he was recognized with a Heroism Award for Honorable Meritorious Service. He would often reminisce with family as well as the Aids, Nurses and Chaplain at his community. The family would sincerely like to thank Hannah, Tiffany, all the Aids and Caregivers at Evin in Oconomowoc, the Oak Medical Group, as well as Nurse Amanda and Brighton Hospice.
