Michael Lynn Houchin, 78, of Oakland City, passed away with his family by his side Friday, July 8, 2022. He was born November 30, 1943 in Evansville to the late, Harold Hollis "Tack" Houchin and Ida Mae (Reynolds) Houchin and married the love of his life, Wanda (Jenkins) Houchin on April 21, 1962. He worked for Iron Workers Local 103 of Evansville for 39 years before retirement. He loved his river camp and was a man "set in his ways". He also enjoyed fishing and camping. He was loved and his family will miss him beyond measure.
Michael is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wanda Houchin; 4 sons, Dwayne Houchin (Barb), Jeffery Wayne Houchin, Allen Ray Houchin, and James Michael Houchin; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ronnie Houchin and Thelma Case.
Along with is parents, Michael was preceded in death by a brother, Morris "Tack" Houchin and a daughter-in-law, Bonny Houchin.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Providence Cemetery in Francisco officiated by Pastor Gene Burkhart. Interment will follow.
For those who wish, memorial contributions may be given to Providence Cemetery and mailed to 5920 E 750 S Fort Branch, IN 47648 in honor of Michael. Online condolences may be given at www.corncolvinfuneralhome.com. Corn-Colvin is honored to serve the Houchin family.
