A LETTER FROM UNITED STATES OF MARINES
Michael L. Jarvis was a man of profound courage and deep conviction. A veteran of the
U.S. Marine Corps, Michael served as a Corporal during Operation Enduring Freedom
in Afghanistan. He was a subject matter expert and a leader who remained steadfast
under the pressure of combat, earning the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal
for his bravery and devotion to his unit.
Though Michael's transition to civilian life brought heavy burdens and personal battles
that many veterans face, they never erased the core of the man he was-a leader, a
Marine, and a father. His greatest legacy lives on in his children, Jaylee and Luke,
whom he loved deeply. Michael will be remembered for the indelible mark he left on the
Marine Corps, his unwavering spirit in the face of adversity, and the enduring love he
held for his family. He has finally found the peace that his service and his struggles so
rightly deserved.
In honor of Michael and all who have served, we encourage awareness and
compassion for veterans living with PTSD. If you or someone you know needs support,
confidential help is available through the Veterans Crisis Line by calling 988, then
