Michael Ray Jones

Michael Ray (Mike) Jones was born on March 29, 1950 to the late Virgil and Frances Jones in Monroe, LA. He passed away on September 13, 2024 in Suisun City, CA at the age of 74 from Alzheimer and vascular dementia. He now resides in his heavenly home where he is free, healthy, and whole.
Mike was a faithful man of God and an active member of First Baptist Church in Fairfield, CA. He regularly attended until his illness prohibited him from physically attending. He was a willing servant of God who readily used his God-given gifts to help anyone in need, especially widows and senior adults.
He was a proud union electrician with a career that spanned over 50 years. Electrical work brought Mike and his family from Louisiana to California in 1987. He was Training Director for the apprenticeship program and taught 1st Year apprentices.
After his retirement in 2009 he spent hours in his garage working on one project after another, often accompanied by neighborhood friends, always eager to help anyone at anytime. A hobby he enjoyed was photography. His happy place was Yosemite where he & special friends would go, camp out in their trucks and enjoy fellowshipping together while photographing God's beautiful creation.
Mike married Vicki Woods on December 29, 1972 in Baskin, LA. They were blessed with 2 sons, Ryan and Jarrod. He was a loving and devoted husband and dad and later, a doting Pops to Oliver and Emery. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Mike is survived by Vicki, his loving wife of 51 years; son Ryan and daughter-in-love Jeanette and their sons, Oliver and Emery of Vallejo, CA; son Jarrod and daughter-in-love Dianne of Fairfield, CA; and Yvonne Munoz, daughter-by-choice of Ontario, CA.
Also survived by sister Deborah Carter, nephews Shawn & Shannon Chumney, grandnieces Emiley and Adilynn and great-niece and great-nephew Aria and Arlo, all of Florida.
He will be greatly missed by his family in Louisiana; sister- and brother-in-law Lori & Wayne Grayson; niece Mandy Faulk (Adam), nephew Brandon Grayson (Kerri), grandnephew George Adam Faulk (Kelsey), grandniece Katelynn Faulk, grandnephew Tucker Grayson, grandnephew John Randall Faulk, grandniece Bonnie Claire Grayson, and great-nephew George Adam III, aka Tripp.
