MICHAEL J. KANE, 72, of Little Falls, NJ died Wednesday, November 22, 2023 peacefully at home.
Born and raised in Jersey City, Mike graduated from St. Michael's High School in 1968, and went onto study at St. Peter's College. He moved to Little Falls in 1983 with his wife Kathy, where they went on to raise their two daughters Mary and Colleen.
A resident of the Little Falls for 40 years Mike was actively involved, in Holy Angels Parish where he was a proud member of Our Lady of the Highway Council #3835, Knights of Columbus, where he served as an usher until 2020. He was known to his neighbors and wider community, as a man who always had a smile, a kind word and if needed a helping hand.
Before his retirement, Mike worked as a banker for 45 years, his last company being ComputerShare. He was known by his colleagues as someone who always had a good attitude, a trusted advisor, and mentor. Following his retirement, he often took calls and offered advice and guidance to former colleagues.
He was predeceased by his parents, Vincent J. and Christine (nee Eichler) Kane, his sisters, Rosemary Sampieri and Christine Boguszewski and his nieces, Angela Piacente and Diana Dietzel.
Survivors include: his wife, Kathleen (nee Whitehouse); his two daughters, Mary and Colleen Kane; his brother, Vincent Kane; his sister, Eileen Sgroi; her husband, John; youngest sister Bernadette Dietzel, as well as his nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 4-8 pm at Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Little Falls. Funeral on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 9:00 am from the funeral home and 9:30 am Mass at Holy Angels RC Church, 465 Main Street, Little Falls.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to his daughter, Colleen Kane's Cycle for survival team, which helps raise money for cancer research.
As of March 2024 his daughter, Colleen will be 5 years cancer free, and family and friends plan to ride and raise money for that milestone.
There is nothing in this world that Mike would want more than for his memory to be honored in raising money for research to help find a cure for this disease.
