Michael B. Kennedy, age 70, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away on November 13, 2025, after a long hospital stay at the John McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on November 11, 1955, at Smokey Hill Air Force Base in Salina Kansas to Captain Russell and Nancy Kennedy.

Mike was an incredible individual. He spread jokes and laughter everywhere he went. He especially loved gathering his four children around and telling the tales of A-Booga-Wanga – the mischievous tiny green man that snuck into houses and did mischievous things. His children would laugh for hours and hours with these stories. He would follow it up by making dinner for them and putting on a movie. He tucked his children in every night with prayers and hugs.

Mike was strikingly intelligent. He adored intellectual debates and writing. He was loved and respected by everyone who worked with him. His ability to write was unmatched. He attended college later in life and his professors and classmates constantly remarked on how intelligent and well spoken he was.

Family was everything to him – having two older brothers and a younger sister and brother. He was the proud uncle to 11 nieces and nephews, six uncles/aunts, and seven cousins. He prioritized family above everything else, a trait he happily and proudly inherited from his parents. He taught all of his children how to cook, fish, hunt and how to truly enjoy the outdoors. He was the best dad anyone could ask for.

He is survived by his three children Joseph Kennedy of Mountain Home, AR, Lucas Kennedy of Fayetteville, AR and Rebecca Ellis of Fayetteville, AR, and his four siblings – Russell (Val) Kennedy of Nampa, Idaho; Bob (April) Kennedy of High Point, NC; Diane (Carly) Kennedy of Lincoln, NE; and Dean Kennedy of Pleasant Garden, NC

He is preceded in death by his parents, Russ and Nancy Kennedy and has now joined his beloved son, Christopher Kennedy, in our Father's loving arms in heaven.

Cremation arrangements have been made with A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas, and a celebration of life service will be held in the spring of 2026 in Mountain Home. Memorials can be made to NEXT Distro (www.nextdistro.org) or donations can be made to the family to help with unexpected funeral costs and sent to Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 W. Main Street, Jacksonville, AR 72076.
