Surrounded by love and family, Michael Francis Keyes, 49 of Binghamton, NY was called home to the Lord on Friday October 24th, 2025.
Michael is lovingly survived by his devoted brother, Joseph M. Keyes (along with his significant other Heidi, and her daughter, Ireland), his cherished sister, Lisa A. Keyes, his dear niece, Caitlin R. Whiting, Stepfather Patrick Ross, and beloved step siblings Erin and Eric (Ariel) Ross.
He was pre-deceased by Father, Martin J. Keyes, Mother, Margaret (Peg) T. Keyes-Ross, Grandfather Francis E. Ward and Grandmother, Irene W. Ward-Burke.
Michael will be dearly missed by childhood friends Eric Perterson, Ian Fortner, Ken Murphy, and Phil Metcalf.
Throughout Mikey's lifetime of health challenges and physical pain, he always found a way to smile and embrace life. His greatest joy came from making others laugh and ensuring everyone around him felt heard. He was without a doubt, truly, a selfless man.
Mikey was a simple man. His love was for our mother, orange cats, video games, computers and food (lasagna). He could remember any cheat code from countless games we played as children, and you'd better bring your appetite when visiting. Thanksgiving everyday would be ideal.
In the words of our brother, Joseph, "he was superhuman". Michael endured hardships that would have broken most after just one round. Still, he kept rising to make sure we felt loved and needed. A true hero. Never again will there be one like him.
To honor Michael's wishes, there will be no formal service. Rest in peace, Mikey. You have certainly earned it. Your infectious smile and generous spirit will never be forgotten.
