Michael Brenford Kitchen

Michael Brenford Kitchen, 68, of Hitchins, Ky passed away Monday, February 3, 2025 at his residence. Mike was born November 29, 1956 in Ashland, KY a son of the late, Billie and Louise Roberts Kitchen. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanda Belle Kitchen; a niece, Amber Kitchen and two nephews, Curtis Kitchen and Nathaniel Poole. Mike served his country Honorably in the US Marine Corps from 1975-1979. Mike worked as a truck driver and enjoyed turkey and deer hunting, fishing, and playing video games. Mike is survived by three sons, Eric (Carrie) Kitchen and Christopher Kitchen both of Ohio, and Derek (Alisha) Estep of Ashland; a daughter, Rachel Estep of Ashland; four grandchildren, Chase (Carley) Webb and Whitney (Tyler) Webb Morris who he raised as his own children, Isaiah Estep and Gavin Smith; three great-grandchildren, Tyson Morris, Owen Webb, and Tatem Morris, and a great-granddaughter, Reece on the way; three brothers, Gary (Joann) Kitchen of Cannonsburg, Larry Kitchen of Hitchins and Billy Ray Kitchen of Flatwoods; a sister, Cathy Peters of Ohio; and a host of friends and extended family who all mourn his passing. Funeral services will be 1 pm Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Bro. David Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East with military honors provided by Kenova Post 93 and the US Marine Corps. Visitation will be 11 am Friday until the service hour.
