Mr. Michael Wayne Kitchens, age 63, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 11:10 PM at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY.
There will be a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Longview General Baptist Church, 3405 US-62, Beaver Dam, KY 42320. Mr. Kitchens' wishes were to be cremated.
Michael was born on March 30, 1961 in Chicago, IL to the late Virgil Kitchens and the late Wanda Jean (Hammer) Kitchens. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Frances Dillihay, Wallace Kitchens, Wanna “Tootsie” Boyd and David “Sam” Kitchens.
He is survived by his 4 daughters, Carol Ann Smith (Kenneth) of Franklin, KY; Ashley Ligue (Herschel) of Crystal Lake, IL; Candace Kitchens (Josh) of Bowling Green, KY and Samantha Bryant (Colby) of Beaver Dam, KY; 7 grandchildren, Kenneth Smith, Emma Smith, Mackenzie Ligue, Zachary Ligue, Sophie Black, Elijah Bryant and Emry Bryant; 3 siblings, Pam Kitchens of Hoopeston, IL, Timothy Kitchens (Rose) of Chicago, IL and Brenda Cannon of Potomac, IL; many aunts; and several nieces and nephews.
Michael was a member of Longview General Baptist Church in Beaver Dam, KY. He was retired from Delta Demolition. Michael was a truck driver all of his life. Mike enjoyed his time working. He took pride in his daughters and spoiling his grandchildren. In his later years of life he developed a closer relationship with God. For Mike, his family was everything. He enjoyed the simplicity of being in their company, sharing stories and playing card games. He enjoyed creekside fishing and early morning Walmart trips with his grandkids. Mike was a father and friend to all. He never met a stranger and would do anything to put a smile on people's faces. His presence was felt by all. He will be dearly missed.
