Michael Kleisch "Unkl Mike", 52, of Volo and formerly of Chicago, Wonder Lake and Hainesville, Illinois at rest on October 25, 2022. Loving husband of Alyce née Dowding for 22 years. Beloved father of his twin girls Berlynn and Leah, the love and light of his life; his pride and joy. Dear son of Elke (Elske) Kleisch. Cherished brother of Elke (Alfonso Casal) Kleisch, brother in law to Jean Marie McCormack, Amy (Wayne) Loek, Mariann Dowding, Jennifer Williams. Dearest uncle to Julian Casal, Anna (David) Hartwig, Liam McCormack, Hannah Loek, Rachael (Justin Weimer) Loek, Kali (Dan) Mazur, Miranda Williams, and great uncle to Maddox and Leilah Mazur. A much loved nephew to John and Rosemarie Morgen, Jutta and Clayton Perry, Loretta and Randy
Baumgardner. Fond cousin to John Morgen, Rose (Bill) Body, Andy Morgen, Ingrid (Barry) Morris, Al (Karen) Martindell, Robert (Brittney) Baumgardner, Natasha (Jeffrey) Bloom and all their children. A fun-loving friend to many, and always the life of the party. He was preceeded in death by his best friend and fishing buddy, his dad, Michael Kleisch.
Mike's passions included raising his two girlies, the love of his wife, hosting large family gatherings, fishing, the Mississippi River, his property in DeSoto, WI, his days owning Unkl Mike's Tavern, shooting pool, the Grateful Dead, and Dungeons & Dragons. Mike was always a dreamer. He was diligently working on his latest endeavor to launch a virtual D&D business to bring the joy he had of the game to others.
A major regret is that Mike was not able to see his girls in marching band or in the school musical. In lieu of flowers, should you wish to express sympathy you may make a donation, in Mike's memory, to the Wauconda High School Band and Theater departments. https://tinyurl.com/kleischmemorial
There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 1:00 – 5:00 PM at Lindy's Landing, 115 Park Street, Wauconda, Illinois 60084. All are welcome to stop by or stay; the family looks forward to seeing you there.
You are asked to bring a photo of Mike with a favorite memory written on the back. Index cards will also be available for those without photos. Pictures and cards will be added to a special display and become a cherished collection for the family.
