Michael Steven Knowles, age 62, of Clinton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge surrounded by family and friends. He was born on July 8, 1963 to the late Irving L. Disbrow Jr. and Shirley Ann Knowles. Mike attended Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church faithfully and loved his church family. He never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went.
Mike loved to be outdoors. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and working on anything with a motor (including chainsaws). He especially enjoyed restoring John Deere tractors and antique vehicles like Broncos and Ford trucks. Mike worked at Melton Heating and Air Conditioning for over 20 years and considered his co-workers family. He loved and proudly served his country a combined 31 years in the United States Navy and the Army National Guard. He was a petty officer second class in the Navy and then retired from the Army National Guard as a Master Sergeant.
Mike is survived by his wife Shannon Knowles of Clinton, daughter Renee Knowles of Chicago, Illinois, son David Knowles of Grandview, Tennessee, sisters Cindy Blosser of Oak Ridge, and Davone Reynolds of Venice, Florida, brother Phillip White of Jacksonville, Florida, father-in-law Eddie Knight of Rocky Top, brother-in-law Dustin Knight and his wife Kelsey of Oak Ridge, nephew Greg Blosser of Sarasota, Florida, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Mike is preceded in death by his mother Shirley Ann Knowles, father Irving L. Disbrow Jr., adoptive father George Knowles, brother Bill White, nephew Doug Blosser, and nieces Amy Blosser and Laura Blosser.
Visitation: 5:00PM - 7:00PM, Thursday, July, 24, 2025 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel in Lake City.
Funeral Service: 7:00PM, Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Sharp and Rev. Mike Trentham officiating.
Interment: Family and friends will meet at 9:15AM, on Friday, July 25, 2025 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel to go in procession to Beech Grove Cemetery for an 10:00AM graveside service.
