Aidan Joseph Knowles

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Aidan Joseph Knowles announces his passing on Jan. 17, 2026. He was 18-years-old. Aidan was born Feb. 6, 2007, in Merriam, Kansas. Aidan was a loving son, grandson, and friend. He had an especially close relationship with his mother and was deeply devoted to her. Aidan had a smile with distinct dimples that warmed many hearts. He was kind, quick to laughter, and a bright young man. He graduated from De Soto High School, Class of 2025. He was known for his athleticism, and loved playing baseball and wrestling. Aidan excelled at wrestling, in high school he lettered in the sport and he placed 4th at the USA Kids Wrestling Championships in 2025. He was also a great outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and canoeing. One of his favorite places to explore was Wyoming. He adored his dogs Command Sergeant Major Plumley and Randall. One of his favorite pastimes was putting on a fireworks display with his cousin Elijah. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Barbara Hitchler.

He is survived by his mother, Courtney Knowles; father, Bobby Knowles; sisters, Alaina and Vivian Knowles; maternal grandparents, Scott and Pam Kirkpatrick; great-great-aunt, Beverly Switala; paternal grandfather, Eddy Hitchler; uncle, Tom Kirkpatrick (Maggie); aunts, Jenny Graham (Greg), Whitney Grube (John), Rachel Knowles; cousins, Elijah Pouppirt, Elizabeth Pouppirt, Sophie Pouppirt, Benjamin and Cash Graham, Scarlett Hill, Kaylee Kirkpatrick, Peyton Kirkpatrick, Greenleigh Grube, Liam, Jaylen, and Cavender; along with many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The visitation and funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Basehor, 1410 155th St., Basehor, KS. 66007, visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, and the Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026. Burial in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. The family sincerely thanks all relatives, friends, and well-wishers for their prayers, condolences, and continued support during this time of bereavement. Aidan was the light of our lives, and he will never be forgotten. Though he is no longer with us in body, his love remains forever etched in our hearts. May he rest in eternal peace.
