Michael David Koetting

Michael David Koetting, 65, of Kalkaska, Plymouth, and Birmingham, Michigan passed away September 9th, 2025 at his home. Michael was born March 21st, 1960, in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky to the late Donald and LaVerne (Myers) Koetting. Michael is survived by his wife of 43 years, Terry Ann (Mabee) Koetting; his children, Matthew Koetting (Khali), Christopher Koetting (Monica), and Katrina Pineda (Christian); his five grandchildren Hunter, Ella, Colton, Elio, and Santiago; his sibling Fredrick (Lisa), Teresa Lannen (James), and William (Tammy); many nieces and nephews; and Brother-in-law Thomas Mabee (Lori). Michael served honorably in the United States Air Force for four years. He earned a B.S. in Industrial Management from Lawrence Technical University. Michael was an avid enthusiast of everything automotive. He began working for Auto Alliance (Mazda) and via joint venture to Ford Motor Company for 32 years, retiring in 2018, notably building the Ford Mustang at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family on the lake, fixing anything and everything, poker and Detroit Lions football. After retirement he completed the resto-mod of his 1972 Corvette Stingray, a 30-year labor of love. A Catholic Mass and memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, beginning at 9:30AM (Mass at 10AM followed by luncheon) at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1400 Inglewood Ave, Rochester, MI 48307.
