Robert Irving Koetting (77), son of the late Irving and Marjorie Koetting, joined his parents in heaven on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
Robert is survived by his brother John (Dawn) Koetting and sister Barbara (Allen) Berberich. He leaves behind nieces and a nephew Jacquelyn (Don) Pillsbury, Rebecca Rydell, Melissa (Chris) Clark, Alex (Indhira) Berberich and Lindsay Berberich. Also great nieces and nephews Ashley Pillsbury, Daniel Abma, Hayden and Aimee Clark, and Addalyn Berberich.
Bob grew up in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, and graduated from Hasbrouck Heights High School. His favorite subject was art, and was always sketching new pieces. He attended Fairleigh Dickinson University. Bob was a life-long member of the First Reformed Church in Hasbrouck Heights.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army. While there, he worked in the kitchen and soon was requested to serve the officers because of the artistic way he presented meals.
As a civilian his art and creativity were engaged when he worked in Window Display at several large department stores, locally and in New York City.
Bob remained especially close to his sister, Barbara. There was a large age difference between them. He took care of her when she was a young child, and as his health declined Barbara became his main advocate, making sure he had the services he required. He could not have had a better sister or better friend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Reformed Church of Hasbrouck Heights. https://www.hasbrouckheightsreformedchurch.com/give
