Michael Borsig Kuriger, born March 15, 1948, to Joseph and Barbara Kuriger, passed away on January 16, 2026, at home, surrounded by love, with his daughter and his beloved dogs by his side.
Mike was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Brenda Holmes Kuriger, whose memory he carried with him always.
He is survived by his daughter, Heather Michelle Kuriger, who was the pride and joy of his life, as well as his beloved godchildren, Richie Kuriger, Grace Cadiere, and Alyssa Rayborn.
Mike grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, and later made his home in Rankin County, Mississippi, where he lived and retired. Michael was a faithful member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Flowood, where his faith was an important part of his life.
He graduated from St. Joseph High School and went on to study automotive technology at Hinds Community College. He dedicated many years of service to the Mississippi Department of Employment Security, from which he later retired.
Outside of work, Mike found his greatest happiness on the water. He deeply enjoyed fishing with his brothers, brother-in-law, nephew, and friends, where camaraderie and a shared love of the outdoors brought him lasting friendships and cherished memories.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at St. Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service for family will take place at 12:00 p.m. across the street at Lakeland Place.
Mike will be remembered for his steady presence, his devotion to family, and the quiet joy he found in life’s simple moments. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
