Michael Robert Lach, a devoted husband, father, and cherished member of the community, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025, at Alamance Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was 87 years old.
Born on February 8, 1938, in Lapeer, Michigan, Michael lived a life marked by dedication, love, and service. His first love was remodeling houses as he always made sure his house was perfect for his wife. A decorated veteran of the 82nd Airborne, he held a deep respect and unwavering support for the VA, praying for the well-being of his fellow veterans. A devout Catholic, Michael was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where his faith was a guiding force throughout his life. His commitment to his faith and community was evident in all he did. A man of many talents, Michael was a self-taught individual who could operate any equipment with ease. He became a licensed General Contractor in NC and mastered the art of building cabinets. Known as a jack of all trades, he was always willing to lend a helping hand, often giving the shirt off his back to those in need. His love for farming, gardening and his fondness for his pet geese, Mr. & Mrs. Goose, and his ducks brought him great joy.
Michael was a loving husband to his best friend and wife of 63 years, Kathee Lach. Together, they built a family rooted in love and mutual respect. He was a proud father to his children, Bryan Lach and his wife Laurie, Carmen Madsen and her husband Randy, and Christine Pryer and her husband Arthur. His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren, Oliver Brown, Arthur Pryer III, Ashley Pryer, and Gillian Lach; and his great-grandchildren Oliver Brown II, and Zaina Brown. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will dearly miss his presence.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Michael Anthony Lach and Mary Gomalak Lach, and his sisters, Genevieve McGlashen and her husband Ted, Irene Baldwin and her husband Paul, and Margaret Lach.
A Mass in his honor will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, located at 1620 Hanford Rd,
