A luncheon for Mike LaFoe of Harrisonville, Missouri formerly of Amsterdam, Missouri will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, February 19 at the Amsterdam Community Building. A Celebration of Life Service at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 19 at the Word of Life Church in Amsterdam. Donations can be made to the family to help with medical and funeral expenses. Michael Paul "Mike" LaFoe, age 59 of Harrisonville, Missouri, formerly of Amsterdam, Missouri passed from this world into his heavenly home on Monday, February 6, 2023 at his home in Harrisonville. He was born April 29, 1963 in Wichita, Kansas to LP "Mike" and Elaine Gunter LaFoe.
Mike, one of six children, attended Holy Cross Elementary in Hutchinson, Kansas and Newton High School in Newton, Kansas. He had worked in several manufacturing businesses. After he was unable to work, he had a power wash business and an Ebay business. Mike married Mary Arellano and together they had one son, Jordan LaFoe. Later he married Bonnie Grizzle.
Mike loved the outdoors and had a real passion for hunting American Indian artifacts. He loved fishing, camping, hiking, studying his bible and helping others to know God. Mike was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas Jayhawks fan.
Mike is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Grizzle) LaFoe of LaCygne, Kansas; a son, Jordan LaFoe of San Antonio, Texas; two granddaughters, Tatum and Roya; his mother, Elaine LaFoe of Independence, Missouri; five siblings, Craig (Sandy) LaFoe of Penrose, Colorado, Mark (Joey) LaFoe of Napoleon, Missouri, Teri Lanning of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Karen Burke of Blue Springs, Missouri and Julie (Andy) Pieri of Raymore, Missouri; 11 nieces and nephews; and 16 great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, LP "Mike" LaFoe.
