Michael "Mick" Leffler, 88, of Shelbyville, passed away on Sunday October 5, 2025, at Timber Creek Assisted Living.
Born in St. Paul, on October 27, 1936, to Ora Leffler and Marguerite Berauer Leffler. He married Carolyn Leffler on June 19, 1960, and she preceded him in death in 2021.
Survivors include children Brenda (John) McDaniel of Blue Ridge, Tim (Sandy) Leffler of St. Paul, and Tammy (John) Ricke of Clarksburg; brother Robert "Cadillac Bob" Leffler of St. Paul; Grandchildren Kiley (Chad) Stiller of New Palestine; Brooke (George) Miller of Shelbyville; Jacob Leffler of Greenfield; Shaun (Bailey) Leffler of Lafayette; Jordan (Jared) Owens of Greensburg; Dirk Ricke of Clarksburg; and Brock (Olivia) Ricke of Greensburg; Great Grandchildren Gabbee, George, Beckett, Bodie, Parker Jo, Evelyn, Sutton, Atlee, Crew, Ryker, Zach. Zayden And Lynzie; Great Great Grandchildren Jaxon and Alex.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 1 brother Richard Leffler, and nephews Larry, David, Gary, and Mark, and his beloved cat "Beemer."
Mr. Leffler graduated from St. Paul high school, and was a lifetime resident of this area. He was a factory worker for GE for several years, and also was the Adams Township Trustee for several years.
Mick was a U.S. Army veteran, earning the rank of Specialist.
After coming from humble beginnings, Mick was proud of everything he owned and acquired over the years. He was an avid race fan, he enjoyed midget and sprint cars the most. He enjoyed owning many different cars, especially his 1968 Oldsmobile 442, which he bought brand new, and owned up until the last few years. He spent lots of time working on his car, installing 7 engines, and several paint jobs through the years.
Mick and Carolyn traveled across the nation on his Goldwing Motorcycle, from Yellowstone Park to Key West Florida. He was an IU Basketball and Indianapolis Colts fan. He loved to attend his Grandchildren's sporting events.
Funeral services will be on Friday October 10, 2025 at 1pm at the Glenn E. George Funeral Home, 106 E. Franklin Street, St. Paul, In.
Friends may call on Friday from 11am until the time of service with burial at Paul Hill Cemetery in St. Paul.
Memorial donations can be made to the Shelby County Animal Shelter In care of the funeral home.
