Michael Planas Llanto

1945 - 2023

Michael Planas Llanto, 76, passed away in Anchorage on July 22, 2023.

He was born on December 1, 1945 to Digno and Dionisia Llanto in Cebu City, Philippines. He attended college at the University of Visayas and graduated with a degree in Accounting.

He moved to Juneau, Alaska in 1974, and married Tessie Carrillo Llanto on July 7, 1979. They had two children, Shane and Krystle Llanto. He worked as an Accountant and retired from the Federal Government after 31 years of service.

He loved music, dancing, movies, bright colors, and his style was inspired by Elvis. He enjoyed spending time with family and relatives in Alaska and going to Cebu to visit with his old friends often. He was generous and helped many friends and family during his lifetime. His sense of humor was offbeat and he had a good heart. He will be missed by all of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Digno Tenchavez Llanto and Dionisia Ishihara Planas Llanto. He is survived by his wife: Tessie Carrillo Llanto; his daughters: Dionah Kilgore, Gethse Erasmo, Nicole Mason and Krystle Llanto; his son: Shane Llanto, his sister: Dailang Saceda; and seven grandchildren: Nick and Alexis Kilgore; Katyana, Jericho, and Nieco Erasmo; Rylan and Amaya Llanto.

At his request, he was cremated, and his remains will be interred at the Columbarium at the Shrine of St. Therese. A funeral mass will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 1 pm.
