Michael Luke Long, born March 3,1956 and passed away on December 5, 2025. Mike was formerly a resident of Southwest Philadelphia, Williamstown, NJ, and most recently, Mullica Hill, NJ. He had a huge heart as evidenced by his many charities that he supported. He was a long time employee of Breyers Ice Cream at 43rd and Woodland. When they closed the plant, he was the last person to lock the doors which was very tough for him, as he loved working there. From there, Mike went to WAWA in Williamstown, NJ where he worked until his retirement. Mike was a huge Philly sports fan especially Villanova and 76ers Baseketball and Penn State football. He played all sports growing up starting with the Little Americans Bisons, St. Barney's Shamrocks, and others. His favorite sport was basketball which he played well into his 40's before knee issues forced him to stop.
Mike is survived by his brother Jim and his wife Barbara, who he loved dearly. He is also survived by his nieces, Meghan Thomas (Marc), and Jackie Long; and his nephew, John Damon and sister-in-law, Delores Long. He was predeceased by his parents John J. Long and Mary E. (nee McDermott), his brother John A., his sister Betty Jean Adair, and brother-in-law, Jim Adair. He is also survived by many other cousins and friends, especially the Slinka Family and Don Duffey. Mike was writing notes nearing the end and the last one he wrote, "Tell Everyone I Love Them" He truly meant it.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, December 13 at 9:30 am until 10:45 am at St. Barnabas Church, 6300 Buist Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19142. Mike's Funeral Mass will begin at 11 am. Interment at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mike's honor to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
