Michael R. Lopez, C.F.D., Age 49, Friday, October 27, 2023, suddenly. Beloved son of Meridith (nee Wolfe) and the late John Lopez. Loving brother to Mathew Lopez C.P.D. Beloved best friend to Katie (nee McKeon) Lopez. Funny and adoring uncle to Ellyn, Grace, Sara, Anna, Amanda, John, Conor, Timmy and Claire. Proud godfather to Mae Urbon and Claire McKeon. Fond son-in-law to Bob and the late Kathy (nee Finn) McKeon. Funniest brother-in-law to Tim and Lynn McKeon, Patty and Steve Kovats, Matthew and JoEllyn McKeon and Suzie McKeon. Also survived by loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Mike was loved and surrounded by a remarkable circle of life-long friends. He graduated from Christ the King Grammar School in 1988 and created life-long memories as a student at Mount Carmel Catholic High School - Class of 1992. Mike added to his natural talent as a graduate of Columbia College of Chicago. One of Mike's most pivotal achievements was becoming a proud member of the Chicago Fire Department. Mike was intelligent, an amazing artist, a music historian and an avid reader. He was witty; rarely minced words or lacked in conversation. Mike was undoubtedly the most comical, loyal and lovable friend to all. Visitation Friday, November 3, 2023 3:00 p.m. until time of Mass 7:00 p.m., at Christ the King Church, 9235 South Hamilton Ave., Chicago. Interment private.
