Michael Mann

Michael Mann, 79, of Teaneck, NJ passed away on August 29, 2022, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer s Disease.
Mike was born in Jersey City, NJ at Margaret Hague Hospital on August 19, 1943. He had two (now deceased) brothers Jimmy and Tommy and had a good childhood until the age of 14. At that young age he unexpectantly lost both parents within 2 months of each other. He had to develop a strong sense of responsibility and maturity at such a young age. When he was 16 at St. Joseph s High School, West New York, NJ, he met Lorraine Violich and they fell in love. They married in 1966 and had a daughter and a son. He was a wonderful husband and father.
He started his career working for the Federal Reserve Bank NY, NY. While having a full-time job, and two young children, he attended night school at Fairleigh Dickenson University, Teaneck, NJ and received both a Bachelors and Masters in accounting and taxation. He had several accounting positions and eventually became Chief Financial Officer at Florasynth Inc, Teterboro, NJ.
He was a veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam War. His happiest times were spent cheering on his Mets and Jets and being his grandkids favorite goofy play mate, making his six grandchildren laugh with delight. Mike loved to tell you he was IRISH He was a proud and strong-willed man with a great sense of humor, was exceptionally smart and cared deeply about his family.
He is survived by Lorraine, his wife of 55 years, his daughter Kimberly, son-in-law Paul, son Michael and daughter-in-law Lisa. He is also survived by his grandchildren, in whom we see his wonderful qualities, Caitlin, William, Jacqueline, Allison, Emily and Ryan and many nieces and nephews. Recently, Mike was happy to welcome his grandson-in-law, Ethan to the family.
Mike was a family man whose greatest contentment was to see his family grow and follow their life s dream as he did. His strength, determination and unending love of his family will be his legacy.
