Michael Mariano Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 19, 2025.
Michael Paul Mariano, 87, of Florida, formerly of Franklin Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, surrounded by his devoted wife, daughters, and son-in-law.

Born and raised in Franklin Park, Mike built his life on the values of family, hard work, and laughter. He dedicated his career to the steel industry, where he earned the respect and friendship of his colleagues. Known for his warm smile, quick wit, and kind heart, Mike had a gift for brightening every room he entered. To know him was to love him.

Mike was a loyal friend, a devoted husband to his wife Nancy, for 65 years and a loving father to his children, Rick (Renae [Gary]) and Robin. He was also a cherished "Papa" to his grandchildren: Jay-Michael Mariano, Brandon Lacko (Tiffany), Randy Thompson, Brett Lacko, Michaela Lloyd (Andrew), Cody Thompson, Kendyll Trejo (Bradley), and Dylan Thompson. His legacy continues with his great-grandchildren: Maris Lloyd, Rowan Lacko, Violet Lloyd, and Enzo Trejo.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife Nancy Mariano; his children, Rick Mariano, Renae Kray, and Robin Thompson; his son-in-law, Gary Kray; and his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will forever treasure his love and the joy he brought into their lives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Giuseppe and Antonia Mariano, his three sisters, and his faithful Yorkie, Mia.

At Michael's request, a private celebration of life will be held with his immediate family on October 1, 2025. The family is deeply grateful for the many relatives and friends and compassionate caregivers who hold him dear and kindly asks that you keep him in your hearts and prayers.
