Mr. Michael Joseph Mattio

Michael Joseph Mattio was taken to Heaven on Sunday April 14. He was 45 years old. He was born in New Orleans and resided in Metairie. He was surrounded by his family and friends. Michael was carried to heaven in the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ through whom he was gloriously made whole. He is the beloved husband of Stephanie Heine Mattio and adored and so loved father of his precious daughters Maggie & Katie Mattio. Precious and beloved son of Joseph and Sandra Mattio. Cherished brother of Michelle (Shelly) Mattio Frannino (Jason Frannino). Son-in- law of John and Julia Heine. Loved brother-in-law of Steven Heine (Marcia Heine) and Shawn Staples (Bill Staples). Michael is an angel in heaven with his grandparents, Joseph and Grace Mattio and Evan and Stella Husechen and his Godchild Sarah Staples. God father of Joseph (Pepe) Frannino. Beloved uncle of Jacob and Victoria Heine and Sophia and Christian Staples. Godchild of Loretta Hamilton and Even Hueschen. He was loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins and was the cherished friend of many. Michael attended Brother Martin High School and was the owner of Mattio Carpet Cleaning. His wife and children are members of Atonement Lutheran Church which he attended with them. We find peace and strength through our faith in Jesus Christ our risen Savior. "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. John 14:1-3. Love you, always have, always will. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 2:00 pm.
