Michael Maxwell

Red Hook - Michael J. Maxwell, 48, a lifelong area resident, died unexpectedly Monday, April 28, 2008 at home. Mr. Maxwell was a supervisor for Advantage Marketing in Ramsey, NJ. Michael was an avid New York Mets fan, and he enjoyed watching football on television. One of his favorite past times was hiking by the Hudson River with his dog, Ralph. Born in Newburgh on February 23, 1960, he was the son of the late Jack M. Maxwell and Barbara Eckert Chase, who survives in Staatsburg. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Bailey of New Jersey; brother, Martin Maxwell of Hyde Park; two sisters, Diane Sindone of Hyde Park, and Cynthia Parow of Pleasant Valley; several nieces and nephews; very close friend, Linda Alygad of West Camp; his beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Ralph; and aunt, Katherine Thorpe of Newburgh along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 pm, Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park. A funeral service will take place at 6 pm during the calling hours. Cremation and burial of his ashes in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, will take place at the convenience of the family.
