Michael Todd Mayle, age 60, a life-long resident of Philippi, departed this life on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at his brother and sister-in- laws residence, Brian and Erin Mayle. He had been in declining health; however, his passing was unexpected. Michael was a cherished brother, a steadfast friend, and a vibrant spirit who touched the lives of many. Mr. Mayle was born on November 23, 1965, a son to the late Herb Lee Mayle and Mona Jo (Mayle) Mayle. Michael is survived by his wife Amanda Mayle who survives at their home in Philippi. He leaves behind sons; Noah Gearheart, and Autmn Rhoades of Elkins, Todd Mayle, and Tiffany Smith of Paris, KY, daughters, Susie Mayle of Paris, KY., Elizabeth Mayle of Paris KY., Chole Croston, Grafton, and Emma Croston, Philippi, brothers; Timmy Lee Mayle of Philippi, and Brian Mayle, and wife Erin (Adams) Mayle, grandchildren; Saint Mayle, Adeline Mayle, Quinton Carson, Dakota Mitchell, Avery Ritchie all of Paris KY., Ryot White-Grow, and Raiden Mayle both of Philippi, nieces; Destiny Antonelli, and husband Andres, and a niece by choice, Natalya Collins, and husband Zach, nephews; Tyrese Jerome Mayle, T.J. Swiger, and Austin James Nutter, several friends including J.D. Collins and companion, Jessica Blake and his son Iverson Collins they was his second family. Mr. Mayle was preceded in death by his sister; Tressie Swiger. Michael attended the schools of Barbour County; he was Chistian by faith. He was a Jack of all traits, he done carpentry work mostly working in masonry and drywall work, he also did mechanical work always under the hood of cars with J.D. Collins. He also worked as a funeral assistant at Stemple and Forman Funeral Home with Virgil Collins by his side. Michael loved spending time at his home place at Morrel that is where he would find peace, he loved eating popsicles the red, white, and blue was his favorite. Michael was always stealing Erin's pop in the middle of the night He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, going on buggy rides, hunting, and most of all he loved tormenting Brian and Mandy. He enjoyed playing with Brian's dogs, Rocco, and Maddie. Michael possessed a unique ability to connect with others like his sister Tressie. He had a remarkable gift for conversation, often leaving those around him feeling understood and appreciated. His laughter was contagious, and his kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Whether it was a friendly chat over a drink, dinner or lending a hand to those in need, Michael exemplified the values of compassion and generosity Family and friends may gather on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 11am until 1:30 pm at the Kittle Family Funeral Home 265 Beech Ave., Philippi. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm with the Rev. Ruston Seaman officiating and interment will follow in the Welch Cemetery near Moatsville.
