Michael J. Mazzarella

Michael ("Mickey") Mazzarella, born on November 20, 1931, in New York City, passed away on May 10, 2024, leaving a tremendous legacy of love and many cherished memories.
Mickey was a pillar of strength, and he was deeply loved by his many friends and family. The cherished husband of the late Eleanor (Shannon) Mazzarella, he was the proud father of Ann Marie Da Silva and her late husband, Richard Da Silva, and Michele Liik and her husband, Erik Liik.
Dedicated to his family, his country, and his community, Mickey served in the United States Marine Corp., and he was a proud member of the IATSE Local-1 Union. During his 50 years as union member, he worked as a stagehand at Lincoln Center, Avery Fischer Hall, where he was respected and admired by his colleagues, forging many close friendships.
In addition to his daughters, he is survived by his grandchildren, Michael Liik and his wife, Jessica Liik; Andrew Da Silva and his wife, Caryn Schreiber; Dylan Da Silva and his wife, Jennifer Reres; and Shannon Ruck and her husband, Andrew Ruck; and his five great-grandchildren, Isabella Liik, Michael Liik, Jr., Andrew Ruck, Jr., Riley Da Silva, and Joseph Ruck, whom he showered with love and by whom he was adored in return.
He will be deeply missed and remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
