Michael Mcclone Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Westgor Funeral Home - Neenah on Feb. 24, 2025.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael "Mike" McClone, who left this world on February 22, 2025, at the age of 74. A lifelong resident of Menasha, Wisconsin, Mike dedicated his life to his family, his community, and the business his father started, the McClone Agency. He was a man of deep generosity and kindness, strong work ethic, lifelong friendships, and quiet humility-always providing, always serving, always leading.
At the center of Mike's life was his wife, Claudia McClone. Married for 51 years, they built a home rooted in family and faith. Together they enjoyed traveling and sharing time with family and friends.
Mike grew up as the oldest boy in a large Irish Catholic family of ten children, and he took his role of eldest brother very seriously and always felt strongly compelled to be there for his family, that he was so proud to be a part of. These qualities shaped him into the devoted provider he became, not just for his family, but for his entire community. He was the foundation for his three children, Ryan (Laura) McClone, Caela (Erik) Brenn and Dustin (Stacie) McClone, and the beloved "Puppa" to his ten grandchildren: Braeden Brenn, Rylee McClone, Eliana Brenn, Finnley McClone, Abigail McClone, Dylan Brenn, Amelia McClone, Kylie Brenn, Declan McClone, and Tyler Brenn. He is also survived by his siblings: Kevin McClone, Dan (Cathy) McClone, Molly (Herb) Horn, Maureen Lamers, Tim (Lynn) McClone, Pat (Diane) McClone, Brian (Joann) McClone, Kelly McClone and brother in law, John Jauquet. Nothing gave him greater joy than being surrounded by family-sharing laughter, wisdom, and, of course, a perfectly grilled "Papa burger."
Mike attended St. Patrick grade school and St. Mary High School. He went on to graduate from Dominican College of Racine in 1973. Professionally, Mike loved his work and rarely took days off (unless the golf course called)-because for him, work was never just about business. It was about people. He joined McClone Agency, a business his father, Ralph, started in 1949. In 1987, he bought the business and took over as President and remained until he retired in 2018. He led with integrity and heart, fostering an environment where employees became family.
His commitment to Menasha ran deep, and his impact can be seen in the buildings he helped bring to life, the organizations he supported-primarily St. Mary Catholic Schools, St. Mary Parish, the Boys and Girls Club, and the Community Foundation and several others throughout the years--and the values he instilled in his children, all of whom found their way back home. He believed in Menasha, and he made sure others saw its value too. He would never boast, but was a born leader to his core and held many titles in his professional life, including President of North Shore Golf Club and served on several Board of Directors, including his favorite one, the Green Bay Packers.
A man with a huge heart and a sharp wit, Mike was known for his quick one-liners, his trademark eye rolls, his legendary parking skills (or lack thereof), and his ability to make anyone laugh. He loved sports in all forms-playing, coaching, watching-though he admittedly had less patience for soccer. He rarely missed a football or basketball game of his kids or grandkids, always ready with a tip or two to share.
Mike found joy in the simple things: mowing the lawn, playing Sheepshead with his best friends, family get togethers, buying way too much food, donuts or Kilwin's ice cream, and teaching his grandkids how to fish or shoot the perfect free throw. He loved Florida, golf, a good steak, and the camaraderie of lifelong friendships. If you worked for him, he cared about you. If you knew him, he made an impact on you. And if you were family, you always knew you were loved and could count on Mike.
Though he never sought the spotlight, Mike's presence was undeniable. He was a constant-a leader, a protector, a giver. He never took credit, always deflecting to a greater purpose. But today, we honor him. His laughter, his wisdom, his generosity, and his legacy will echo through our lives and in the communities he helped build for generations to come.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Ralph & Rita McClone and his sister, Kathy Jauquet and sister in law, Grace Chen McClone.
Dad/Puppa/Mick, we will miss you dearly, but we know how much God blessed us all to call you ours. Never wanting to be the center of attention and not necessarily being the most patient person in any room, I know dad is shouting at me from Heaven saying "get on with it already". What a life and legacy you leave. We will miss you dad, but we will hold onto the amazing memories we shared. Keep watching out for us, and until we meet again in heaven, we love you.
