Michael Patrick McGhee

Michael Patrick McGhee of Neptune was born on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1946. He was born in New York City and raised in Belleville, NJ. Michael graduated from Bloomfield Tech High School 1964. He was highly respected in the field of inspection at Bayway Refinery for 42 years. Michael married the love of his life, Yvonne (nee Brateris) McGhee on September 6, 1969 and they recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. He was predeceased by parents Cornelius and Mary McGhee and his brother Neil McGhee. He is survived by his loving, devoted wife Yvonne, his sister-in-law, Tracy, and brother Dennis and wife Alice. He is also survived by son Brian McGhee, wife Lisa and their children Molly and Emma; son Scott McGhee, wife Lisa and their children Conor and Ryan; son Michael McGhee, wife Kristen and their children Casey and Brady; daughter Colleen Curto, husband Vincent and their children Charlie, Stella, and Leo; and a host of nieces and nephews. Michael and Yvonne moved to Neptune in 1972 where they entrenched and raised their family in the community of Shark River Hills. Michael was a lover of all sports, especially the New York Giants and Notre Dame football. He dedicated a lot of energy, time and love into coaching all of his basketball, baseball, and soccer teams, where he served as president of The Neptune Soccer Association and annual tournament director. He was a huge supporter of everything Neptune. Michael could always be found on the sideline of all of his children's & grandchildren's sporting events; he was their biggest critic and #1 fan.
