Michael Nathan McGuire, nickname "Mcluvin", birth name Michael Paul Ivester, after a yearlong brave medical battle he passed on April 30, 2023 at the age of 42 in Oceanside, California. His condition was the result of a vehicle accident in January 2022 which caused a cervical spine injury that evolved into ALS. He helped launch the FB group "ALS answers" with his partner as a way to share research to help others.
He is survived by his fiancé of 13 years Tami Reeves; sons Austin and Tyler and "step" daughters Alyssa, Ariana and Kayliana. His adoptive family are the McGuires in South Carolina, and his biological family are the Ivesters. He was born into a family of eight siblings. Older sister "Cynthia Ivester" really stood out supporting Mike's journey with ALS.
Mike started out a Marine and wound up a plumbing contractor for many years. At 6'3" he was a strong Viking-type who never shrunk away from a challenge. And with a good sense of humor and a daring attitude he named his business "Mcluvin Plumbin". He lived his life to the fullest; and did it his way. Mike will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him; and his footprint on this world is undeniable and everlasting.
A memorial gathering will be held at the family home residence in Oceanside, California on May 7, 2023. After his remains are prepared in the next couple weeks, his ashes will be released into Nature where Michael loved to go hunting and fishing. Every day of his 5 months on hospice he was told he was surrounded by Love. We pray for him to have a safe journey flowing through the elements leading his soul to find peace in Heaven.
